DC2R or DC5R - that is the question
Im looking at buying a Type R but i cant decide between a DC2 or DC5.
Apart from the bigger motor and year, what are the other major differences between the 2 models? i have fallen in love with the original DC2 because of its look, almost hand built craftsman ship and its handling!

What country are you in?
I'm thinking about 'upgrading' to a DC5 as well.
I've driven a few of my pals DC5s and they are quite nice and comfortable, with enough torque to drive around with not much downshifting.
My only motivation to upgrade is the age of the car and potential of the K20A.
Still love my DC2 though, feels more like a race car.

road noise- b/c no sound deadening, thinner sheet metal, interior panels, etc etc...
engine- b series sewing machine, and the famed (VTEC KICK)
exhaust- if it is stock, is actually not loud
gearbox- only if the final drive has been changed
vibration- b series is definatley not as smooth on rev out as k-series.
b series= more vibration, esp. if motor mount inserts(mounts) have been installed....

I'm just not feeling the DC5R over the DC2R. The DC5 has a better engine. The strut suspension of the DC5 is not as good as the double wishbone suspension on the DC2.
I think this about sums it up...
Daily driver = DC5R
Track/autocross car/weekend only car = DC2R
I would not want to daily drive a DC2R and I wouldn't want to have a DC5R as a weekend toy only.

I have a comparison of some of the details of the caRs: http://www.integratyper.org/specs/master_comparison.htm
From what I've seen, most people that have actually driven both, prefer the DC2 hands down. Most people on this website are from the USA which never offered the DC5-R...just in case you didn't know that.

I love the look of the DC5R, but in my mind the DC2R would be the only way to go. The DC2R is a much more raw car, but I just wouldn't want to buy and R to DD anyways . . . AND you don't have to go through a bunch of registration BS as well with a DC2R.
Well if hes an aussie e probably wouldnt need to worry about reg. right?
I DD my 97R and LOVE it! I wouldnt DD it though if i still had another car but i sold my old eg because i might be moving soon. DDing an ITR is really not bad but i understand DDing a car will put a lot of miles/wear and tear.
DC2 ITR>DC5 ITR, no questions asked!
I had a 98 Integra GSR, then a 2003 RSX, and now I have a 2000 Integra Type-R...out of all those cars, I like my 2000 Integra Type-R the most...I agree with PaulMC...the DC2 is just so original.
