Default adding immobilizer to non-chipped teggy

Alright recently my 99' GsR was attempted to be stolen but was thankfully unsuccessful. So they broke off my whole ignition w/ key cylinder from the column to unlock the steering and get better access to the ignition switch and now am going to need a new whole ignition and a key to match.
I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to use an old 2000 Gsr ECU i have with the old set of keys and get an immoblizer added without the old ignition assy. from the 2000 Gsr.
If not does anyone know options i have as far as utilizing the 2000's ECU and chipped keys?. Thanx

let me start by saying i have not ever dune this or read to in to this. but from my reading the ignition just has a rfid reader in it the code is really read by the ecu. as using the keys with the ecu u are good but the lock/ignition will not work with the key that douse not fit it. this is a pic of the inside of a lock http://www.nzeldes.com/Miscellany/im...ealThing03.jpg yours will be set up much the same what needs to happen is the ignition need to go to the lock smith and they can make it work with the key. i know this can be done with VW. but i am not 100% on honda i have never had to have it done on my car. call your bbb www.bbb.org office and ask them if they can tell u of a good lock smith near u, call them and tell them what u wont they will eather tell u if it can or can not be dune or if they cannot do it of some on that will.
