92-95 EJ Brake Light Issue
I was driving around 40-50 shifting into third when I had to slam on the brake to avoid an accident, however the gear never fully made it to 3rd. When I did that the car kind of jerked in place if that makes sense. Kind of like when you shift gear the car jumps forward a little just in this case since my foot was on the brake so it tried but it was restrained.
I said all that just in case it helps diagnose the issue.
Now basically since that little incident my brake light on the cluster(For the hand brake) stays on either for a long period of time or until I pass a certain speed limit. My handbrake works fine and during the incident I didnt use it. I used regular brakes.
Im guessing a sensor is messed up/jammed/ or something. What is throwing me off though is what does that have to do with the indicator for my handbrake???
Any suggestions would be appreciated...Im trying to avoid wasting money on something that I could probably resolve on my own.

The brake cluster light is not just for your hand/parking brake - it also indicates other potential trouble with your brake system... namely low brake fluid. Have you checked? Otherwise -- I suspect a bad ground.

Thanks for the help
