Default need help with shipping seats

I am wanting to ship my seats to a person in California if they buy my seats.

I got a fedex quote for $150 per seat if they I just send the seat wrapped in the plastic pallet wrap. Crazy....

I was wondering if the ITR seats can be taken apart so I can send it in a smaller package and then the end user would just have to assemble them.

Does anyone have a diagram of how the seats can be taken apart or kindly show me how?
(i.e. Im trying to stack the seat cushions and back rest each other to hopefully save on shipping.)

Thanks

don't take them apart

take the headrests off, flip one upside down to make an upside down L and put the two together.

Use lots of bubble wrap and plastic wrap before putting them together, then more after. Wrap in more plastic wrap, then put in box or just ship wrapped up.

Should cost about $100 if you print your own label and do it yourself

You saved me from having to type all that

Do just as Dan suggests, best way to do it and I do reccomend putting them in a box and if there is space between the wrapped seats and box throw in some styrofoam chunks or more bubble wrap. Seats damage too easy and if you see the way they treat those boxes you would give it the extra attention.

Oh and if you have trouble finding a box with the right dimensions try a storage/moving facility.

Yup. Other places that sell boxes in a variety of sizes are office supply stores (Staples, Office Max, etc) and mailbox type stores (UPS Store, etc).

fed ex is also very expensive. i dont know what part of the country yo are from but try grey hound and if not look for a store like mailboxes etc. and or a ups store. they should charge no more than 125 to box and ship. youll save about 25bucks boxing them yourself. if u cant find a moving/storage place just hit up a sams or walmart or whatever big *** store you have in your town. i promise youll find a box there.

You can compare prices on their websites. For small to medium sized items, FedEx is usually the cheapest way. For large and bulky items, Greyhound sometimes works better, but if it's boxed up, probably not. Like he says, do all the boxing and wrapping yourself if you want to save money.

If only shipping seats to Hawaii was $125, I'd buy 5 sets.

The last time I shipped seats, it was only 35 bucks per seat at UPS. However, if you shipped them together I was quoted 80 to 90 bucks. Weird huh? It was from the midwest to the west coast.
