According to carsdirect, they can get it at invoice price. That means you can probably bargain for below invoice. I am wonder how much people got theirs for.

Because they cant sell. Who wants to buy an underpowered, overweight hatch for 19,5. Who wants it even a little lower than that?

There are two local Honda dealers in my area, both have at least 4 on their lots.

Try $13,500. Out of 4 that have sold in Oklahoma, all but 1 have been returned/traded in due to the owner hating the car.

Is it really that bad? My wife likes that car a lot, especially the interior.

I think they're bad as ****! Love the seats, shifter, etc...

But I'm not getting one. I have a Civic Type R reserved at my dealer... In case they show up, oh, next summer...

There is 4 at our lot here. Same 4 they had last month. I would buy it for my wife if/when the price goes down to 13k here. Too heavy for me to mess with and the looks are kinda... But we all know what they can look like with some mods (ex. Type R)

keep dreamin if you think a CTR is comin...

with the sales of the Si, and theyre never being a CTR in the states, you're on crack if you think Honda would bring that over. Better save your pennies to import it

True...

But with the Si and Type R Civics being buil at the same plant in England, it would seem more feasable to have a Civic Type R, than an RSX Type R, as the RSX and RSX Type R have several different assembly plants in the world...

Try to imagine a 190-195hp US-spec (euro specs are 210+hp) Civic Type R to fall just under the RSX Type-S, plus boost sales for the hatchback body style... You admit, sales of the Si are down, so what better way to boost them than with a Civic Type R?

Seems possible to me...

I find that a little hard to believe.

Not gonna happen, its known fact that americans prefer coupes to hatchbacks, and Honda will not introduce a car that will take sales from Acuras RSX Type S (After all the new CTR is just a K20A2 with LSD)..with this Factory Performance Garbage dont expect either Type R to make it over here...

ditto

the new civic SI is nice. All you need to do is lower it with some 17s and its really clean looking.
The interior is really nice, you can seat 5 adults in it pretty comfortably also needs to be lowered though

Probably the same people who wasted their money on the 99-2000 Si

That's why I was saying that the Civic Type R will probably be at least 5hp less, probably 10-15, that the RSX Type-S. This way, it will still be a screamer compared to the Si, but not be in direct competition to the RSX on horsepower numbers... Maybe have the LSD as an option...

And I know that Americans are the most fickle ******, me included, when it comes to buying cars based on looks. But look at the current trend of "sportwagons" and "crossover" vehicles, like the Lexus RX300 Sportwagon, Mercedes C230, Mazda MP5, Toyota Matrix/Vibe, PT Cruiser, and now BMW is thinking hatch with the Mini and Cooper S, and the upcoming 1-series will have a hatch. Upcoming Chrysler Pacifica, Mercedes E-wagon, redesigned BMW 5-series wagon. Hell, even the new Mazda RX-8 will be a 4-door hatch/coupe/wagon looking thingy...

It's just a trend that is, and will, turn America's tastes... I looked for 5 months for my EG hatch... And the hatch body style is the only body style of Civic, any year, that I and a lot of people would own...

The problem is, Honda may look at the disappointing New Si sales and blame the low sales on it being a Hatchback.

When really, it isn't selling well because of the weak engine, small stock wheels, and no ground effects.

I personally would buy a New Si if it had 190+ Hp. I would definintly buy a new CTR.

But, as things stand. I may be stuck buying a WRX.
