Can anyone tell me why this AEM system doesn't fit?
The car is a 97 Hatchback. The intake system is for the 1999-2000 Civic Si.

I was told that this would fit perfectly, but it doesn't...
Here's a picture of how an AEM system fits on an Si... I am confused, can anyone help?

its made to fit in a hole behind the headlight i think i am using that same cai in a eg with a b16 and mine fits nicely i just had to twist the lil bracket to make it mount without rubbing!
What engine do you have?? Swap, Stock, is it supercharged??
You have to give a lot of information for people to help you when they are just going by what you say.

I think it should fit? Maybe you need to give it a lil oomf to persuade it a lil better. Also, make sure it is lining up good near the TB or it will throw off everything. Silly question but, has your car ever been in an accident?

take another picture not so zoomed in so we can see what exactly is goin on, see how it all lines up, kinda loks like an itr intake the way it goes inside of the inner fender wall. bigger, wider pic!

no dude, thats the right one though you need to get like a 3 inch hole saw and drill out the hole on the passenger side front, it does not go by the tranny like an itr one, if you have an itr one, look where all the abs **** is, thats where the hole needs to go!
good luck, eric

Yeah, because in the Si picture it looks like there's an opening behind the headlight for the intake to go down. On this car there is no opening to the left of the A/C lines.
i know what its for, i had to drill hole out of my ek to make mine work!! trust me, if you look by the headlight on fender you will see what looks like a indent for a hole about 3inch in diameter, just need to drill it out and it fits perfect!
the ek hatchs's dont have hole allready eric

Will any other AEM CAI system fit on a 6th gen? Like an ITR one? I know someone has done this before... I really don't want to have to drill a hole!
If you want...I bet you could get a bigger and longer rubber connector to connect the intake to the TB. I know of people with Ody's doing that in order to get the accord v6 intake to fit.
I don't think so because the ITR intake is kind of the like the b16 one. It extends to the left rather then coming straight like you need it to.
Yes... an ITR one fits PERFECT! Now I'm remembering.... the Si Intake, goes thru that hole that is NOT there on your car. The ITR goes Under the frame. To put the Si intake, you gotta cut that hole I think. To put an ITR intake, you do not.

So for the ITR intake on the 6th gen hatchbach, how does the filter angle toward the bottom? Are there any clearance issures or does everything fit perfectly?
B2 it's a B & M FPR.
It fits fine... there are NO clearance issues at all. It sits behind your inner fender with the top of the cone facing out towards the street.
