Help My 1998 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 TRANSMISSION
i just bought this car and put a new engine and now after i put the new engine in it my transmission has a weird kick and a lag from going from 1st to 2nd but all the other gears seem fine except when i get on the gas it has a lag? the transmission has 182k on it. i was wondering if i were to flush it and put new fluids and add the lucas treatment would that work? thanks
I have the same problem but with a 98 Ex 4cyl. I have done that and still have the problem. Mine goes away once the engine heats up some and also doesn't do it when it is warm outside. How about yours? I thought it could be a solenoid so I pulled them out and cleaned them which was needed but didn't help. All solenoids checked out as far as resistance specs.
It is worth checking the solenoids. It's relatively painless if you have an ohmmeter. Ultimately for me YeuEmMaiMai is right. I stopped by a tranny shop and a friend I know there said the problem is plugging filter, which you cannot service without removal of tranny, and then you may as well rebuild it while it is out.
