Vote:Turbo or All Motor? what you got???
i got me an EG (finally, hahaha) with a b18b, might make it ls-v or turbo. i want to make my choice by this weekend, but i wanna hear what you guys think, what do you have???
x2 on money and goals. but unless your planning on running after market, gsr rods or retanging the ls ones to run gsr bearings i would't do ls-v unless you don want the motor to last. so turba
MONEY is no object(well kinda), car is good to go now, but i cant stay like this, iNEED to put some thing in it. i do want to make it last

Only boost if you got enough money to build the engine before or after it blows..... Dont get me wrong I love boost but its a bit pricey I could have built a nasty n/a with all the money i spent fixin mine
to the OP, how much hp do you want to make out of your ls? if it's over 200whp and you dont want to "crack open your piggy bank" after saying money isn't an issue i'd go boost.

These threads are stupid because people just want reassurance for what they have already decided. It's a bunch of opinions that don't mean anything because everybody has exactly that, an opinion. I say do whatever you want since you probably already have your mind pretty much made up. Then search around for setups that meet your goals and go from there. Problem solved.

Problem not solved... I dont know which way to go with my car and this is why people as these kind of questions. Yes some know what they want but ask just to reassure themselves but like me some of us really dont know. I have a d16y8 with a cx tranny for longer gear. It's pretty quick but I want quick and fast. I have seen d16's run 12's all motor but i've seen the same with b series. so should i swap or build or go turbo? I know alot of people say turbo but alot say no. So what are the up sides and down sides?

LSV Turbo. but you will need arp bolts for the rods and head studs to make it right. Do some searching on LSV setups. I personally had a LSV-T, bone stock everything except apr studs and bolts, and made 350whp on 14psi w/ a 54 trim turbo. LS block mated w/ a b16 head w/ gsr cams and a b16 tranny w/ LSD. Ran 11.7's in the 1/4 and outran most everything on the streets. You will definately want a better tranny though (gsr,b16 or type r) and LSD is worth its weight in gold IMO.
