isn't it illegals to have tires from japan /china?? cause i remember reading a while back that you can only have tire made in the US cause they were a risk ??

 

Tires to be used on the public road(legally) in the US have to be and meet DOT standard.

most performance tires are from everywhere but the US(Falken yokohoma Pirelli etc

 

Technically it is illegal to have anything on your car that is not DOT approved to include lights,windows,tires etc etc etc.

 

I have Chinese tires on my car right now, they have DOT stamp. All the other cars I've owned have had tires from Japan, they were also DOT approved.

unless u see a dot stamp than yea they r but i doubt u will ever get cought with them.... do u think the guy doin ur inspection is going to look for a stamp on them??? he is probliy so used to seeing it on every other tire he will probily take it for granted it will b there.... y do u want jdm tires??? is it for a street car?? cause if they r for racing they probily not pass a tech inspection...
