h22 1 gen crx?
yea like he said it would be a strictly drag car. that **** would be wild though. i think if u were gonna do all the work it would take to complete that project u might as well move the engine to the back of the car too.
figure out how much its gonna cost you to fabricate everything to put the h22 in and then take all that money and buy a b16 and build it and put the b16 in, that way it is more reliable for street driving UNLESS you plan on makin the 1st gen a complete race car , if you do that, strip every god damn peice of interior and sub frame that is not needed and hit high 12 witha stock motor

Whatever dude. If youre building a drag only car... h22a is a great platform to build on.
Ill repeat what others have said tho... DRAG ONLY. This car would be rather unmanagable on the street, due to the massive understeer that such a light car such as a first gen would create. Id love to get a 88hf and do a h22aturbo in it fordrag only... overall... 88-91 crx's are a much better, easier platform to work with then the 1st gen. The CRX's engine bay is already horribly small... and the 1st gen's is even worse...

It's been done but it would be STRICTLY a drag car. I saw one race an NSX and guess who won??? The CRX ran like 13.1-13.0 or so, and I believe it was a STOCK H22A.
i've got a COMPLETELY stock block AND head slapped together and ran a 13.5 in my '87 Si. and don't anybody get **** and say it's not a stock motor either.
i agree with RexB16...H22s are USELESS! in civics.
EDIT: i love how people think they're the first to think of doing such to the 84-87 platforms. do some research, unfortunately, it's becoming more and more popular for some serious swaps in these cars.

You said it. You'd think that since the 1st gen CRX is such a light car, the H22A would be at least pullin high 11's!!!
I dunno, maybe the guy who raced it was using the stock rims with skinny street tires!
