Results for my motor!
ok, so i just talked to everyone and they said the block is **dead** but the head is still good, so i just need to replace the block. so i want to try and get a built block. who should i go through? sure i want performance, but i also want a good reliable build that wont pop after 50k miles
should i go with importbuilders 2liter? or should i go with their 1.8liter? what would i have to do to my head if i went with the 2liter? any other suggestions? i need all the help ya'll can give me!
they said what happened was a piston punched throught the back of my block but it looks as thought the head wasnt damaged at all, so now i know whats wrong, what should i do about fixing it? i dont really want alot of downtime, thats why i was thinking of going with the already built block.

why build the block and not the head? ok, it's not completely pointless, but if you are going to build the chit out of the bottom end using forged pistons, new rods, etc you might as well run bigger cams, springs, retainers, ecu, etc.
i know, and as much as i would love too do that!! i dont think my funds allow for both to be built...at least not right now, but soon hopefully after i recover from this i can build up top too...
Well you might aswell do the bottom end while you have the availability to do it because its alot harder to go back in and do pistons and connecting rods then it is to put cams, springs, valves, and other stuff.

if u plan to make your car faster, and you already have the bottom end out(or in your case, a new bottom end to be built) you might as well open it up and put in some goodies. Then slap it together, and worry about building the head later on. Or get like 6 credit cards and do it all at once like me lol
but I would definitely go with a FW and FD combo fo sheezy

just my opinion. I'd fix it for cheap now, and if you really will build it later, then do it. Otherwise it's all pretty much pointless and most people who talk about building up a motor never do it.
Build the bottom end with 9:1 compression forged pistons and rods.
Save for turbo.

If you do the above you will have a very nice street car.
N/A may be fun, but everyone has to admit that boost does own.
or do i just get a 98spec JDM chnageover and part out my old engine?
i know..boost ownz, but i really want a N/A setup, my wife is getting the boosted ka...

Portflow.

.....~$1k price range. Talk to Tom Fujita. http://www.portflow.com
2L is the way to go if you're gonna stay allmotor. 200+whp and boatloads of tq out of a stock-looking block on stock valvetrain and cams.
You'll be rolling turbo and jrsc'd cars allmotor.

j/k
Tom runs Portflow.
You might as well have Tom port the head and open up the combustion chamber at the same time.
If you can afford to go without your car for a little while longer it'd be beneficial to install some cams and valvetrain.
