Need electrical help: Battery dies
Ok all of a sudden one morning my battery was dead so i jumped it and it started again but later that day battery was dead again. So i tested the alternator and it gave out 14.xx on my multimeter so thats good. Then i did the parasitic draw testing and it gave me 6.xx amperage so i began pulling fuses and went through them all with no luck. The day before the battery died the open door light and buzzer kept coming on while i was driving so when i was doing the test i unplugged the passenger door sensor still no luck. Today i got a new optima red top from a buddy still in the plastic so i stuck that in the EF and went to start her up and it would turn on the accessories but didnt give off enough power to start it up so i jumped it and it started. could that battery just be bad ? I have no idea why the car is acting up all of a sudden and am stuck of what to do next i need some ideas and help quick! Anyone have a situation like this?
Mine was doin the same thing about a week ago. I took all the grounds off sanded down the grounds and then put them all back. And poof the problem is done. Make sure they are all tightend down. And make sure the + side of the alternator is tight. Hope this helps
so your car is drawing 6.0 amps of current on the parasitic drain test... The parasitic drain test when done properly, can always identify which circut is drawing current. Then you just isolate the various components which share the same circut and identify where the problem is. if you found nothing, the only thing left is trial and error. here are some basic starting places.
did you check both fuse boxes/ALL the fuses, even the big ones? - under the hood as well as in the cabin?
check your ground cables (unbolt, inspect, clean if necessary)
you said you had a problem with a door trigger, and you disconnected one, but what about the other?
disconnect any questionable equipment and retry the drain test. if it solves the problem, reconnect the devices one at a time to narrow down a circut.
Do you have an alarm, radio, or other aftermarket device that may operate off of the ignition harness, thus bypassing the smaller fuses and working through the larger fuses in the engine bay?
I have heard of starters going bad and drawing current, check the starter solenoid circut for current draw.
Check alternator wiring connections. disconnect alternator and try the drain test.

I had the same problem. I was using a DA Integra intake tube that was grounding out on my positive batter cable. I had noticed that it was taking some of the metal on the post off so I had bought an AEM 91 civic intake tube and poof gone lol
