I have been having intermittent brake trouble for the last couple of months. I've finally pinpointed the problem, but am not sure how to go about solving it. What happens is the outside pad on the drivers side is not releasing when I release the brake, so it's not completely braking, but it's not releasing either. The result is an annoying squeal or grinding noise that goes away after I reach speeds above 35 mph - I think the pad is just wearing away, though nothing conclusive. I discovered the stuck pad when I was taking apart the caliper, and had to use a clamp to pull the pad off, it was really stuck. All my other pads pretty much just fell out, so I'm assuming that something is wrong. I've greased the part of the caliper where the tips of the pad touch, but that didn't seem to help, since I had to do a bit of work to get it back in. If you have any ideas, I would appreciate it.

sounds like your caliper is seizing. you can either rebuild it or replace it.

 

you can try to grease the sliding pin with Permatex® Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant or sil-glyde

 

just to be clear, are ur slides moving ok or u talking about the pad being stuck in the braket. if its number 2 u need to sand down the top an bottom of the pad, get new pads, or get new hardware
