Blown motor
Sadly my motor blew this past Thursday. I had a 94 LS with the stock B18b with 160k on it and I changed oil every 3000 miles and it never used any oil. The connecting rod failed and blew a hole in my motor. I was wondering if this was a thing that is common with that kind of motor?
Where did the rod break? Top or bottom? Did the bearing spin first? Any warning signs? Under heavy throttle or cruising?
Not very common, especially on a stock motor, but after 15 years things due tend to happen.

LS engines have small connecting rod bolts. Where the rod attaches to the crank is their weak point. Not common for babied engines maybe, but I've seen plenty of LS engines that get abused often throw a rod through the block. Done it myself once too.
