Hondata ECU Reflash now only $295!
So Josh mentioned this in a thread a couple of days ago in a thread and I jumped over to Hondata's website to check it out and it is true!
"As of March 22 all Hondata reflashes have dropped in price to $295." (From their website)
It looks like it is valid for most of their reflashes.
I am super stoked and plan to buy one at the end of April, then I will let everyone know how it is!

Don't get too excited, the dyno numbers I've seen from the reflash don't justify the cost. I've heard driveability improves (smoother acceleration) but overall dyno numbers aren't matching up.
It's better to have something programmable to make the most of your mods/engine (aka full Kpro).

So even if it does only net gains of 10-12 whp and 9 ft lbs of torque like Hondata claims with a 7700 rpm redline that is still EXTREMELY easily justified for $300...
Think about it. People spend $600 on an exhaust that will barely net them gains much over that and people spend $300+ on an intake that will probably get them half of that.
If I can spend $300 and get something close to those gains, plus the option to upgrade to KPRO later, PLUS an extra 1000 rpms of revving my engine that is a steal.
The difference in throttle response and possibly lower end power (as the charts seem to show and as people say) would be great for the daily driver too.
I do some autocross and so being able to rev an extra 1000ish RPMs before shifting would be great for certain quick tight parts of the courses.
I am not saying that KPRO isn't better. Obviously for a lot of people it is. For someone like me with a daily driver with bolt on mods, suspension and brakes work, KPRO isn't the best choice right now. Cause then I will have to spend another $XXX to get it tuned. If I do boost in the future (unless I upgrade to an S2k, DROOL) I probably will get KPRO.

Will do!
Do you have KPRO?
Another thing I was wondering was this:
If you can upgrade from the reflash to KPRO for around $600, but they lowered the reflash to $300, can you really get KPRO for around $900 by doing it that way?
I think we need someone from Hondata to make a post on here and clarify this for all of us. I plan on calling them before I buy it to just to get a little more info. The website info seems very back and forth.

i just talked to one of my guys who has the reflash.
and when i told him the price...he says its worth it. if you have just bolt ons and do a little spirited driving on occasion...its perfect.
so...basically from his standpoint, if you have I/H/E and don't plan on anything else...its the perfect upgrade for the price that its set at right now.
plus...ill be meeting up with him to drive his car and let you guys know comparisons.

i just bought an ep3 a couple weeks ago, it came with a comptech intake, and a little suspension work. but other than the intake, its bone stock. i threw it on the dyno at my work and it put down 137whp/120tq. a little under what i was hoping for, but ill put some fresh plugs in it and some 91oct, then dyno it again in the next week or so. then hopefully before summer ill have the reflash and be able to do another dyno.
reflash is worth it if you do not plan on doing any other up grades besides basic bolt-ons(I/H/E), it is there for those who want a lil more pep, higher redline, a lil better fuel efficiency, etc...but don't wanna to make the car super fast....if you plan on doing anything to change your motor, reflash is not for you...i.e if you plan on adding cams or rbc, etc... you cannot do it with reflash, you must have kpro or you will throw codes and not be able to tune the car properly
Honestly, that price is more in line for what the product is actually worth. Even though I had the reflash done to both my EP3 and RSX-S, I always kinda felt the pricing was too much for what you get.
Don't get me wrong--it's a great mod for a street-driven car with mild bolt-ons. But, it is only a software flash. At least now maybe more folks will be able to take advantage of it with the lower pricing.

I feel ya bro..., My wife suggested we do that a few times as well... I suggested that we sell her lexus and use that for downpayment... since then, she has not asked me again about sellin' my ep3!!!
not a bad price, but i dont like how the numbers decrease or hardly get better after an aftermarket header is thrown into the mix.
maybe they just used your average DC sport header? i gaurentee a quality header would only further the performance. it looks like that write-up on the hondata website is old.
