Question about paint remover
The kid i bought my car blacked out the tail lights but i keep getting pulled over at night so i have to take it off. My question can i use the airplane stripper stuff on the lights will it **** them up? Is there something that isn't so hardcore i could use? i saw that stuff in a can looked more controlled. Ty in advance.
Depends how they were blacked out. Assuming they are painted though, the best option is either to sand and buff or buy new taillights. 94-97s are cheap. Paint remover will eat through plastic, so dont go that route.
Try acitone, I used it to remove paint from my sideskirts. The job was hard and long. You must immedietly wipe off the acitone w/ wet rag because the acitone may damage that plastic if not properly cleaned.
if you use the aircraft paint removed it will probably eat straight through your taillights, that **** is strong. usually people just tint the tailights black, if he did that it should be easy to remove the tint
i dont think this is the tint stuff they are super dark ive been pulled over twice already and got 1 ticket. I bought the aircraft stripper for bendable plastic and plastic parts. Im gunna try that and see how it works.

i did mine on the inside so theres nothing to take off on the outside. depending on how he did them you may need to bake them to get the lense off. i just bought some led brake lights and i stoped geting ****ed with. my car is also silver and not black so that could be part of it

I Used the aircraft paint stripper for flexible plastic, it still ate my lights apart there all wavy as **** now i dont know if i should even try to sand them and buff them or to just buy new ones.
unfortunately my friend, you listened to honda tech users before i could get to you, you could have easily sanded that stuff right off and then brought it up to a high shine again with a polishing pad and a drill and some compound. Best thing to do now would be to try to save them, sand with 400, work your way up to 600, 800, buy the 3m headlight restoration kit at your local parts store, then use the finishing pad and the compound to try to bring it back, or buy new lights, the choice is yours.
