ETD radiator or full race radiator
Hi Hondatech,
I found a thread, searching last night. The fluidyne crx half radiator is only a civic radiator. So it won't clear the hood.
I found these two radiators
ETD
http://www.etdracing.com/store/produ...products_id=76
Full race
http://www.full-race.com/catalog/pro...roducts_id=481
I found nothing on the etd radiator
though I found threads on the full race radiator saying it leaks, overheats, and is; "only suppose to be used for drag racing
"
Which I don't understand why
So, does anyone have any personal experiance with these two brands?
And if someone could post the dimensions of the radiators
That would also be cool
Also; Can you use OEM radiator caps with these?
I'll go ahead and post some info on the radiators I know about
Maybe we could place this in the faq?
Mishimoto:
OEM fit, dual core
Will not clear factory cross member
Can use OEM radiator cap, comes with a radiator cap
Fluidyne half size:
FHP11-88CRX.5 is a narrower radiator than stock for ’88-’91 Civics and CRX. It is 14.346 inches wide and 16.5 inches tall (excluding filler neck and mounting pins). It will not bolt directly to the original mounts in the stock location. Installation of part number FHP11-88CRX.5 in ’88-’91 Civics and CRX’s will require the mounting brackets to be relocated from the stock location to accommodate the narrower width. Exactly where the brackets need to go will depend upon where the extra clearance is needed on your particular application. This radiator also is designed to use a ’92-’00 Civic fan package.
Will not clear hood or innovative competition bar without modification
Uses OEM radiator cap, comes with radiator cap
KOYO:
OEM fit
Can only use Koyo radiator cap
Full race Half size:

I already decided on the etd or full race one
just need peoples opinions on them both
So I can choose between the two
bump!! im in the same boat torn between these two .. i do know that the etd rad is not made by them its sourced from some where else.. China maybe ha. Full-race on the other hand uses a pwr core that we do know.. as far as the radiator overheating motors full race states that holes need to be drilled in thermostat to further better cooling efficiancy..
If anyone else has any info please chim in on this and help us out!!
I personally will be going towards the full-race rad..price diffrence
FR-300+ ship
ETD- 225 + ship

the link i sent you is for a half size radiator. im going to be going with the one i sent the link of i have a full race traction bar but i dont want to pay 300 plus for a full race radiator. But i would go with the full race one if it were between that and the ETD.

thats just a half rad for an eg which yes it will work on an ef but u have to make modifications to make it fit.. you can get one right of ebay from 60-100$..
thats what i though also but i emailed them and they said no modification is needed if you have a aftermarket crossmember.
I have the Full-Race radiator and have been using it for daily driving in Miami heat for three years now, summers included. Not once have I seen it spring a leak, nor does the car overheat. If someone is saying their vehicle is overheating because of that radiator, there is something else involved. It clears the hood in my sedan no problem, but I am also using the Full-Race traction bar in conjunction with it.
I know chase's k20 crx has a full race radiator and it seems to work fine.
Maybe someone should pm him
Or call Full race
as for the etd radiator. i was curious as to why the full race cost so much more an the etd comes with brackets and a fan kit.
I I would be cautious of its quality
I someone with a full race chimes in.

My cap broke during a hard freeze two months ago, decided to finally fix the civic.
Bringing this back from the dead, as I have found the direct replacement part for the Full-Race radiator cap from the manufacturer of the core and the cap.

I contacted Full Race in September and Jon G sent me a picture of what type of cap to use. It looks like you need a type A as honda uses A or B. Here is the picture:
My self with an ef hatch, my brother in his da, and our buddy in his Rex use a 75$ half size no name aluminum radiator in our cars. I've had one for almost 2 years, my bro for more than 2 years. And our buddy for almost a year. And none of us have had any problems. We either made our own bracket or an eg radiator bracket
I know this is slightly off topic, but this is the setup I was intending on using...

Should I be concerned that this won't fit in my '91 hatch?

The only issues will be hood clearance. I have all of those brackets just installed on my EF by Speedfactory. This is using the Full Race Radiator with innovative competition bar.
