Default 92 da9 hb w/shave, tuck, drop, jdm, og build (we3k)

i've had my da9 rs for a few years i got it after returning from iraq to find my previous car (eg w/itr) stolen so i picked it up for riiight around 2300 here are some pics of it right off the "used car lot" (private owner)

it was in good shape as far as i'm concerned.. a little rust under the battery tray and under the emblems but no biggie...car is overall un molested i think it had 2 owners before me low miles for the year compared to most hondas.. a few dents here and there as to be expected...

the first thing i bought for the car was an rs*r exhaust.. it was a bit more then the others but i mainly got it because of the db level was supposed to be pretty good...that and my oem muffler had some holes through it so it was a needed upgrade..

i dont have a lot of pics of it but you get the idea

obviously the car sat way too high so i got some tannabe gf lowering springs.. also ordered some amber corners and bumper lights.. my original corners were broken, and they were cheap so i figured it a good deal..

oh also got a fake japanese lic plate.. gay i know

drove the car around like that for a while and for some reason i thought it would be a good idea to paint my fogs yellow...dont ask me what i was thinkin...

of course i got tired of rolling on steelies so i picked up some rotas... the tires i put on them were more then the rotas were... crazy..

and found some jdm 1pc headlights on ebay for good deal so i got them as well

a good improvement but still wanted more i found some folding mirrors at a junk yard that were bright orange... and also ordered me a carbon fiber hood and a front lip...

i daily drove the car for a while but while on the road for work i ran the car for a bit without oil and spun the rod bearing on the ls ( i also drive pretty aggressive and the motor was right around 150k) so i picked up a b20 from password so i had a way to get around still...

while the motor was out i cleaned up my bay a good bit and did a mild wire tuck...

i took off the gayness and decided that the springs wernt low enough so i got some with a little more of a drop...(skunk2 springs)

again drove the car for a bit but the b20 was getting kinda lame so i picked up a gsr motor off my friend for a cold g..

problem.. the ls tranny obviously dropps out of vtec and i hate it.. also it decided to **** on me...

i got tired of a dd that wasnt reliable so i bought me another car so i could do what i want to my da and have a way to get to work...

(stock 07 fa5 si w/advan rg1's)

now i can get serious with my da...

first things first i gutted the entire car and prepped for the "engine bay shave"

i used a drill to take out all the spot wields and had a good buddy of mine wield up all the holes that i wanted gone..

i forgot to mention the traction bar but you can see it there...

i got some mr5's used off a guy at a local meet.. and had them powdercoated..

before..

after...

but i honestly wasnt feeling them so i got something else instead..

but they didnt fit (i thought they might but didnt really ask)
so i sold them...at this point i decided to stop f-king around and just get the wheels that god intended to be on the da...

they were in ok condition but i want them mint so i sent the barrels off to be polished and got the centers media blasted and polished up the centercaps myself...

because of my new hate for the ls transmission i picked up an 00 itr hydro transmission with lsd an aftermarket final drive.. i'll have to look it up because i cant remember the name

also picked up a skunk 2 intake manifold because i dont like the look of the one i have (even though it apparently gets more power)

also thought it be about time to pick up a "real" suspension

some chase bay/ spoon goodies for later (brake line tuck kit is still on order)

...anyway i'm sleepy now so i'mma call it a night.. i'll post more later

as far as the brakes go i have the chase bays/wilwood booster delete (as pictured above)... from there goes chase bays brake lines (stainless coated not the hardlines) to the oem prop valve then from the valve to the fender wells... basically from there i'm just running a simple stainless steel brakelines, ebc rotors and pads with oem brakes powdercoated to whatever color i decide.. also have extended studs but mainly for looks...

here are the lugs i'll most likely be using unless i dont like how they look on the ssr wheels...

i guess i'll see how much i like them when i get it all together...

as far as interior goes i plan to keep it simple.. i've got most of the tar out from under the carpet i'll either buy new carpet or get the bare floor painted.. i havnt really decided yet..

anyway here are a few things i've picked up for the interior..

momo monte carlo mainly l,ike this wheel because if its simularity to the spoon sports one but for a fraction of the price (although i'll most likely get the spoon one anyway)

memory fab kevlar bucket w/ takata harness

a radio block off tray with a yellow stitch shift boot

the pedals are mugen however i'm honestly not sure if they are real or not because i got them used.. either way they look decient

as far as the back half i will probably leave it gutted

i have a kevlar fuel pump cover and i'm going to use an aviation connector to relocate the wires leading to the fuel pump to make it look a little better

(its not wired up yet)

and then for the batttey i have a pwjdm relocation with and odyssey batt, as well as remote terminals.. not sure if i'm going to use this set up though

the engine bay is coming along pretty well i got all the holes wielded up and am currently filling any of the little flaws that i want gone..here is how the bay sits atm

it still needs a lot of work and tlc before paint.. thats my main focus as of now is to get it done and painted soon...

i have new jdm fenders (the ones with the pre cut holes) and oem stanley sidemarkers

and also thin side moldings for when everything is ready for paint

the wiring for the lights will be ran in its notmal tuck spot inside the fender.. i cleaned them up really nice...

but didnt like how they looked so i got some black por 15

and painted them.. still not sure how much i like it but i think it wont really be seen anyway

i'm not going to include a lot of the pictures of the process of shaving an engine bay as i'm sure you can find that on here but i promise you its not something i'll do again.. it takes too damn long

anyway that is more or less where i'm at currently.. i'll update when i have them..

that thing is super fresh, looks like it only had like 50,000 miles on it when you first got it. And i almost flew to north carolina to smack you for putting that red pinstripe on there. glad you took it off and cant wait for updates. its gonna be a pretty nice Da. keep it up.

ha ha! looking at yours = motivation for mine...

anyway i havnt worked too much on it i've started putting some things back together, and done some bodywork (well bay work is more accurate) i'm still collecting pieces for it to go back together.. and still waiting for parts to ship as well.. the transmission is ready to go back in.. but i'm going to buy a new clutch/ flywheel before i bolt it up..

got some random bushings that were torn on mine for replacement...

this one is gonna be a pita

then the normal replacement while the motor is out stuff (random gaskets, thermostat and timing belt not pictured but i got them)

and then some of my more favorite things i got this last week

wish i had a better update but the pollen over here has been kicking my *** so i havnt done much
