What tactics do you use to change your oil on your dropped rsx??
I was just wondering what tactics do you guys use to change your oil pretty much how do you get your car on ramps or get the jack under the dropped car when you change a tire, ill start off thought it might be a good idea and maybe try someone else's ways out . . . . . . .
well the way i do it is i have small ramps so my lip hits the ramps when i try to drive my car on them so what i do is i get a brick in front of each wheel in the front and drive my car on top of the bricks thus gives me a better way to drive up the ramps then do my thing oil change or whatever to get under the car
so any other tactics out there that might be useful or easier?? lets hear them even if they are ghetto lol . . . . Peace!

This is actually an interesting post. Might get moved to general, but whatever.
I utilize my stock jack in my car, get on the right side of my car and jack up the right side of the car until I can fit my 2 ton jack under the front of the car and get to the jacking point. Jack up/ put jack stands under/ remove jack.
I reverse this for getting it back down.
I want to hear some others, this is the best way I have found.

pulling the front bumper cover off isnt too difficult. 2 screws and a handfull of "pop-tab thingies". thatll free up all the space you need to get on the ramps. Also, if you do a google search, theres a handfull of companies that make low profile jacks for lowered cars. might be worth a look
changing the oil on my friends rsx the "low profile" jack lost pressure and dropped the car. >< be warned there are many people with the same story.
moved to general? wow by all means, i just thought i make the thread for this cause i actually did my oil change today and did it the way i had explained and i figured there must be other ways to do this ha ha i didnt think i would get this turnout to the thread, good creative ways to do it . . . nice
I used to do the same way like aemciv, but buddy of mine uses lowprofile jack on side of car closer to front wheel to get the lift going and uses regular one in front.

i was just thinking about asking this as well, sometimes its a bi*** if you dont have a lot of jack stands, ive got plenty
i drive on to small 2x8's under the front wheels then i jack up the rear of the car first.. when the rear is up, i have no problem getting the floor jack under the front.

On my EP3 I can JUST barely get a normal jack under it so I am good.
As for driving onto a curb, that just seems like a large portion of the oil in the pan will get moved to the side and not drained. If you look the plug is on the back of the oil pan so when the jar is jacked up most of the oil comes out the back.

if your lowered, just drive on a block or 2 blocks of 2x4. after that you should be able to fit a normal 2ton jack under the car.
I'm sitting here wondering why the hell you can't fit jacks under yours, then I realize; hey I have an ultra low profile jack LOL. duh!
i got a 2" drop, and a front lip, jack just barely fits underneath the front force=persuasion (without damage of course)
A couple of blocks of wood always worked for changing tires on our race car at the track. Stick a block in front of each tire, pull it forward a few inches so that the tires are resting on the blocks, and voilà - the car is high enough to fit a hydraulic jack underneath.
