I have purchased a transmission from a gentleman who has advised that the Odyssey tranmission is a compatible replacement since they are both 2.2 L 4 cyl. My mechanic is questioning this. He says there is a shaft that has been cut and the gentleman that I purchased from says "it is a black box and wire and plung (the function is Newtral switch , but Accord you don't need it, we just cut it. Just install it, no problem we do here all the time."

Can anyone else please advise?
