fuel problems !!!!!! help
We need a little more information about the car...
What motor? Are you throwing any check engine codes? Does it sputter throughout the RPM band or does it sputter at a specific RPM?
First thing I would check would be the timing.
Did the car run fine and this issue just come up or has it always done it?

ok its a 89 honda crx with a d15b2 i just put in i was havina a **** lode of problems i repace my fuel filter and thin i replace my valve cover gaskit with my spark plug gaskets and it fuel cuts at random times. Iam not to sure if it is timing but that can be the problem, i think there is another fuel filter but i dont know where. I have looked everywhere and cant find one. And my Check Engine light comes on when it fuel cuts and one reason my check engine light comes on is cus my speedomider does not work.
thanks
thanks
Your car only has 1 fuel filter, so you don't need to look for a second one, and if you have a check engine light on thats where you should start with your diagnosis. find the jumper connector on the drivers side fender near the motor mount and connect the pins together with a paper clip or something to check your codes. If you replaced the fuel pump & filter correctly & its still cutting out, check your injectors, they may be bad. The CEL could tell u that
it could be the main relay...i have the same problem also, i will be replacing mines so yeah and I'll let you know if that could be the prob..hope this link helps you

Don't go replacing random things. Your CEL is on so therefore there is an issue.
You need to figure out which codes you are throwing. The ECU stores these codes until you reset them. Pull back the carpet on the passenger side.Turn the key ON (car not running). There is an LED on the top of the ECU, long flash = 10 short flash = 1. See what the codes are and get back to us before swapping anything out.

check you main grounds. more specifically the ones that connect from the negative terminal on the batter to the chassis and the next to the clutch cable on the transmission, as well as the ground on the thermostat housing.
