B16B = My favorite motor. i would put some GOOD *** oil in that thing lol.

These days most name brand oils are going to be fairly similar. They all have to meet or exceed so many standards. If you really want to learn about oil, check out bobistheoilguy.com. Those people over there know their stuff when it comes to oils and filters.
I always use Valvoline... but everyone gets used to certain brand and sticks to it... it's your call...
Ive always used Castrol Syntec but ive been noticing lately that these new oil companies are becomeing very popular... Its it because of the product quality or just to say that my oil is 'JDM'???

Castrol Syntec is good, Mobile 1 is also good, but the best oil is Amsoil. People always say that royal purple is the best oil. But really Amsoil is basically Royal Purple with additives.
there is going to be little difference between brand name oils these days. i personaly prefer castrol gtx conventional because ive used it for years and it has done just fine.
bottom line, a name brand oil meets or exceeds(in almost all cases it exceeds) your engines requirements..........so pick one and roll out. alot of my instructors at school have worked in racing at some level(mostly nascar) so they all have their preference.......and nicknames like quaker sludge, and penzsludge.............i had one instructor tell me that even though they had an oil sponsor and they got their oil for free........they would buy another brand, empty the sponsors bottles and put in their preferred brand. so there is alot of truth to "this oil is better" but in the case of NASCAR, you are dealing with engines that are on the edge so even if one oil is a tiny bit better.......they use it to give them a tiny bit more cushion. the same goes with high level drag racing, those engines are stretched and pushed to the absolute limit.........the difference is that nascar has to last 3 solid hours, while top fuel for instance gets rebuilt between runs.
in a street car though.........there isnt going to be much difference. as long as it has an API seal on it that meet or exceeds your engines requirements........it will be fine.

We use Torco for all out cars here. The SR-1 is about the same price as some of the other brands and will be perfect to use in a street car application or any car that see's occasional track time.
how does Torco compare to Royal Purple or Amsoil? I have heard good things about Torco.
