Default How is this price?

I don't rely on KBB or NADA anymore because their prices never really reflect what prices you actually see cars for sale at. Anyway, is this a good price?

It's a 1994 White Honda Accord EX with leather interior (leather is cracked in spots), with 140k miles for $4500. I'm going to try to offer the dealer $4000 cash and I'm pretty sure they'll take it. The exterior is pretty much perfect. No dents or dings at all.

4k sounds good. start at 3.5K and go from there. complain about everything.

that's a damn good price, especially from a dealer...hmmm...makes you kind of wonder though...make sure the tranny is in good condition and that everything functions correctly...most dealers want around 6k for 5th gens and an extra 2k for the big VTEC on the engine...so just be sure to check every little detail of the car to make sure that nothing is wrong with it...

The problem for a dealer is that car is too old to be financed really... thats why they go cheap so they dont sit around.

Its 4k cash, or 1.5k at the auction... which would you rather take?

considering i sold a 5th gen for 3200 that needed nothing, was a florida car, and clean...

yah i'd say you got a new ******* torn. just my opinion tho

I wouldnt dare try to sell my 91 LX for more than 1500, and i think its clean.

See, that's why I hate KBB and NADA....none of their numbers really represent the reality. They said my car I'm trying to buy is worth $7300. NO freakin way. I'm even trying to talk the dealer down a little more closer to $4000.

what i love is how dealers try to sell YOU a car at book value, and then stick it to you on your trade.

i would never trade a vehicle in, i've only bought one new car though in my life so... and the used cars i've bought were from private owners.

I think it mostly depends on the mileage. seems a little high, but how long ago did you buy it?

man, i wish i knew what was a fair price...let me ask this...
are these way over priced? (I notice no one even bid on them yet)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1858040127
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1858787545

if they are, then i would imagine $500 for my engine, wiring harness, tranny, ecu...everything would be a fair price...what do you think? But then I never sold an engine before...

Oh well, I'll just take the best offer. I'm not really out to make money...just trying to get some $$$ back from all the thousands that keep going into my h22. I keep trying to tell myself that it'll be worth it in the end but i'm broke all the time and i just don't see it happening...

I'm in seattle, wa by the way

Ok, no big deal. I'm not rushing to get rid of it. If anyone does want it let me know. Otherwise it'll be waiting in my garage. Wonder if I could put it on ebay too...just don't know how to even ship something like this.
