***11:1 Pistons+LS Rods+Turbo***
I wanted some opinions on this setup before I buy the pistons. I have a GSR Block with B16 head. A friend of mine has some CP 11:1 Pistons and LS rods. I am going to be using an LS crank to make the rods work. My question is will this setup work with 93 octane and Turbo?
My setup will be as follows:
Turbonetics .50 trim
Turbosmart Wastegate
PTE 780cc
Blox Intake Manifold
Ebay Cast Iron Manifold
Hondata S200B
3 Inch Downpipe
Big Intercooler
CC Stage 5 clutch
This car may be daily driven, And my goal is to make about 320 to 350.

The fuel you're using is the biggest hurdle in this setup. There is no question that its possible to boost on higher compression, but a matching increase in octane is needed in order to quell detonation. With your goals, i dont think you'll have an issue with this however...your goals are reasonable. Just beware that you may be limited by the octane rating on your fuel...
I was thinking meth kit. But I read all the threads on it. from your experience what are the pros and cons? I want to have the car running by May so I am trying to make some decisions asap. Meth Kit? 93? E85? Or Race Gas?
Look to whats in your area for these things. It seems as though Meth and Race gas are your best bets, but honestly, I'll drop compression a little to be around 10.X or so.
I was just reading a thread by .CUBISH. and he mentioned he daily's his turbo car with 11.8:1 cr at 380ish hp on 93oct with no mention of meth . So is that pushing the limits of 93oct ? Or does it all boil down to the tune as the determining factor ?

I think you should be able to hit your goal on 93 octane, but that doesn't mean it will happen. You may have to either
A.) Lower your goal
B.) Find a different fuel that better suits your needs
or
C.) Add a MeOH sprayer
CUBISH is a great example of good power from a high compression engine. He has another car now in the 600+whp range and the static compression is over 11:1. It certainly can be done.

I Do have a couple of E85 stations around my area. And also a few stations that sell Race Gas. I am leaning more towards the race gas. But if MeOH is a better option then I will choose that. I will either be getting it tuned bY RLZ or either J.Davis
Run E85 A lot cheaper then buying race gas. Here is my buddies Junkyard motor running E85. http://www.streetfire.net/video/the-...125_687191.htm There is a Crx in the last race.
Yes E85 will easily support your power goals , and is a third the price of race gas.

^^That's why i use only E85. Its much cheaper than running race gas but you will use about 25% more of it than pump gas. Having said that, i filled this morning at $1.94 after my 5 cent off coupon
Even factoring an additional 30% more fuel, the equivalent gas price would be $2.60....you can't get 87 oct for that, let alone premium

So E85 it is. What are the requirements for E85? Larger fuel injectors 1000cc min? New fuel lines? What else if I am missing anything? And Will just the Walbro I have do the job?
Nah they are Eagle Rods. I think I might just do the E85 High compression setup. I read through .Cubishs' build and he has awesome results and Im not going to be running as High A Compression as him
