So, I am asking a pretty dumb question before I write this repair shop a letter. I have a 94 EX w/the D16Z6. It runs fine, but needs some TLC.

I took it into the shop to see if there are any problems I missed on the mechanical/safety side. They told me some obvious things:

No Cat (modified exhaust deleted it)
No floor panels (I took out the carpet and back seat... long story)
No front engine mount (this is the point of contention)

I just don't think there is supposed to be a "front engine mount." There's one on the timing belt side of the engine, one on the rear behind the intake, a tranny mount, and a tranny torque dampener on the front of it. I don't really see where you'd put a front engine mount.

So, maybe I'm wrong, or maybe the service tech was thinking Accord F22, which I believe does have a front mount. If I was missing an engine mount, wouldn't it shake? BTW, I know I have floor panels, so I don't know where the hell that assessment came from.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

There is a lower front torque mount if thats what they're talking about, its part of the A/C bracket.

 

yea there is no front engine mounts other than the front side torque mounts such as the ones that 94EG8 suggested.

 

Thanks. I guess he was talking about the torque mount since that's missing. I guess the previous owner deleted that with the A/C.

I'm in the process of putting on one, but I think the guy who sold me one gave me the wrong one (B series maybe).
