Default inner tie rod boot hose?

What’s going on HT

I just picked up a 94-dx hatch and the whole suspension was destroyed, so I replaced everything but the inner/outer tie rods. When I was looking at it today I saw a hose coming out of the boot, is this hose filled with fluid? can i remove it and just pop it back on after replacing the inner tie rod and boot? Also to remove the inner tie rod will a large adjustable wrench work or would a large open end wrench be better? Any help would be great

No, it's not a power steering line. It's just a tube that runs between the two boots or bellows covering the inner tie rods. It's purpose is to allow airflow to pass from one boot to another while turning the steering. Don't leave it disconnected though because it will allow dirty air or dirt to enter inside and could potentially destroy the rack seals therefore leaking.

When I removed my inner tie rods I just used a large adjustable wrench and they came right out.

That's a vacuum hose it circulates air back and forth between the two boots i guess to give it something to do with the air which would slightly cool the tie rods a few degrees ......some would say taking advantage of all functions others may say over thinking it on the engineering and design department's behalf. But you always have 50 say yes and 50 say no on nearly everything in creation. Right!

They make a tool just for that several styles in fact however if you google how to remove a tie rod without the tie rod removal tool some helpful YouTube videos will come up
