Hi there,

I've determined I need to replace a L rear trailing arm on my 1997 Acura EL 1.6. My car has ABS. I have 2 cars in the wrecking yard I'm looking at. One is a 97 civic sedan the other is a 99 civic sedan. How do I determine what one has ABS? I can't drive either car and I can't turn the power on to check the dash for indicators. I can check out the serials and I can do under hood inspection, it's really muddy I don't wanna look under the chassis if I don't have to.

Please help, I told I'd be right back. I sort of disappeared on the guy/

 

look in the trunk on the right side if it has a box over there it has abs.. and it shouldn't be to hard to see an indicator on the cluster even if its not on.

 

lol, you don't need the dash to light up to see if a car has ABS

Pop the hood!!! All Honda/Acura's have the unit right there...here's a pic of one

 

As far as the rear trailing arm goes it doesn't make any difference if the vehicle had ABS or not, they're the same either way.
