trying to build my b20b block...please help
whats going on honda-tech???...im about to start building my b20b block...im thinking of staying all motor...i wanna go high compression pistons...i was thinkin about 12:1 compression...im pretty sure ima have to get my block sleeved...what kind of pistons should i get in terms of what brand???...please help...leave your comments, advice, concerns, etc...thanx for your time guys...
there are tons of brands out there. they all work. it jus depends on your budget..
and you dont have to sleeve it unless your going to be using NOS and launching every 4 minutes at 9k rpms.
sleeving is overated unless you have rediculous plans.
jus sell it all and buy a corolla

I've never done this, but have researched the topic some. seems to me that it would be a good idea to sleeve at this compression if you plan on doing any real racing. I'm pretty sure that at 2.0 you can make plenty power with 11:1 or less and be safer with pump gas. If I were going to sleeve to 2 litres I would use an LS block.
then again, I have no actual experience.

obviously. I'm just saying that if it were me and I was going to sleeve and wanted 2.0 I would use an LS block because of its individual cylinder sleeves rather than 1 piece. Its more simple and more common. I think the point of using a b20 block is to have the displacement without modification.

hes saying that you need to dump all your $ into a dif setup that will produce the same power as a stock sleeved b20 with alittle more comp...
just get rs machine type r spec pistons. they are slightly larger than stock b20 pistons but forged, then find some good rods to match and throw acl bearings in the mix with your crank profiled, micro polished, and knife edged. im gonna be runnin a non vtec b20 build in my car, my setup is gonna be highly similar to this and have a buddy that did it a couple years ago. it sets you right around 11.2 compression with a stock head gasket and 11.33 with a 2 layer head gasket.

OP what head/tranny are you planning to use? are you going to build the head?
well i threw the consideration of daily drivin in the mix lol. and i have a buddy who is a machinist so its worth it when the block is already apart and labor is cheap! :D if you go non vtec and want daily driveability, im in process of building my ls head, supertech valvetrain, stock size valves from supertech, port match intake and exhaust with minor polish on intake side and full polish on exhaust milled down .30, im tryin to find the limit on that so i can get the most out of it but keep it safe at the same time. oh yeah im runnin crower 402 cams

just givin a general idea of what to do with head :D anyway, yeah im lookin for 11.35 at most. if he is gonna drive it reliably then he should take thought in gettin those rs machine pistons. To the OP, figure out what you want your vehicle to do: track only, daily driver and weekend warrior or whatever else. and then what you are lookin to push HP wise
well i have a jdm b16 tranny that ima put on it...i was thinkin b16 or gsr head...yes i wanna fully build the head...but ima keep it non vtec for now til i build up my bread enough 2 do everything to the vtec head...yes it might be my daily but for sure my weekend warrior...
if thats the case and you wanna run 12.1 comp you need to go the extra mile with all your rotating assembly pieces. rod bolts, bearings, head studs, head gasket and all that good stuff. if not your motor will poop on you pretty quick. also look into good management for the oil like a cooler and catch can. the more safety items the better cause high comp frankensteins wont last without good internals and breathing pieces
