Had Another ITR Dream
So I've had a lot of dreams about my ITR, most of them revolve around finding it operable yet strangely disfigured or disabled.
But last night I actually had a dream about buying another one (PY, of course). This one ran like new, but exterior was really ratty and covered with strange things.
I also bought this ITR without getting rid of my Civic or Accord, and without moving to a home with a garage. I really don't have as much $$ as I did while owning my ITR, so it's a pretty ludicrous idea. But I do remember pretty much telling everyone in the dream (GK, my wife, my Dad) to f-off, finances be damned.
I barely even come in this forum, lest I be tempted to go buy another one. But I figured you guys should hear this, pretty ridiculous that I dream about the car almost 3 years later. I don't even dream about ex-girlfriends this much!

Ross,
It would be great if you did get another TYPE-R! How I miss the old days when there was a local TYPE-R crew that would hang out, get dinner, and drive!
Still have the Monster?

It only makes sense. If I was going to buy another ITR he would be the first person I would call.
He and I got new cars within a few weeks of each other, and leading up to our respective purchases we talked about them nearly every day.
@Victor: No bikes now. Just my Si sedan and wife's Accord V6.
I want another R so bad dude. If mine hadn't been stolen I would have it today, wife or no wife. But...after having the Si for a while I don't think I could go back to daily driving an R. Too scary...cramped...noisy...etc.
Not sure when I'll be able to get another R. Maybe for a third car...but I think the wife will have something to say about a 3rd car, and she's already expressed a preference for an S2k/NSX.

Funny, I just had a dream about my R last night. I had done a K24 swap, and took for an initial test drive. I gave it some gas in first for a second, was pushed back in my seat and was pretty impressed. I then opened it up, hit VTEC, threw a CEL, and the engine died. I then took it to a shop to get it fixed, odd thing was that the car was now CW, and the shop put it on a lift so high up it was at least 15 to 20 feet above my head. Really strange.
its obviously a sign... saying move somewhere with a garage, buy another R, and then you wont have to dream about it, you can just go in the garage and jerk off!
Some days I wish I would have kept the s2000 and sold the ITR....esp. now that the weather is getting nice again.... I know the wife wishes I would have kept the s2k....
It was a tough decision, but when I sold my 98 back in 2001ish I really regretted it, and I told myself that if I ever came across another non modified 97-98 I would keep it forever....
3 yrs ago I came across the 97 that I own now...And I still consider selling it and getting another s2k.... Its tough, there is something about these cars that draws you to them, but I also get that draw towards the s2k too....
My little boy is 7 months old now, and when I sold the s2k I bought a 09 SI 4dr to haul him around in.... Well guess what, we take her CRV most everytime, and I probably could have kept the S2K and the ITR....The perfect combo btw.....
I say go for the s2k if you want to get something, you would fit in it perfectly, and to me it is just as much,if not more fun to drive than the ITR....
I think either of the two would be a suitable replacement.....

I don't know if I miss the ITR more because of its actual mechanical merits, or more because my ownership of it coincides with a window in time of age 20-26 (the good old days). I had a lot more money in the bank then, and far fewer worries/cares.
I wonder if buying another ITR would fill the hole that I still feel from the loss of mine. I kinda doubt it.
@Todd: I don't come in here much because I just get too sad. Honestly.
I really do wish that I was still able to be 100% part of this community and forum. The memories of all the track events, meets, and just BSing in here are second to none, I don't think owners of any other car enjoy the kind of solidarity that ITR owners do.
Damn, I'm off of here for a few years and miss so much.
1st off congrats on getting married, and sad to hear your R was stolen, it sucks to not know what happened to her.
here's to the thought of buying another one. I know coming back on here is what got me into the mood to get my ITR back on the road.

BTW my R was never a "her," it was always a him. The car is too aggressive to be a female IMO.
My wife and I don't have names for our Hondas...her Accord is Mrs. Car and my Civic is Mr. Car

I had another ITR dream last night! I had my wife in the car, on the Capital Beltway, and I was going full-throttle through a turn while having the wheel almost totally cranked. Not too far off reality, actually...
