ive had this b16 tranny for about year and ive never had any problems with it the axle is also brand new...at first recently the only time the axle would pop out of the passanger side when i was to gun it but now its started to pop out while im just daily driving...some some local shop said it could be the diff is not locking in and some other shop said im using the wrong axle but the axle is for a si and the car is a 95 civic...please help!!!

 

i would say u have the wrong axle. they should pop out at all in less they break. so i would check. parts stores dont always have the right parts in the box its in. i know this from exp. so just doule check the axle.

 

I've never heard of an axle of the correct length just popping out. The way I look at it is if the axle is the correct length it can't pop out of the tranny as it won't be able to slide because of the hub. If it is to short I could see it popping out.

 

i swapped out another axle and it popped out again!! im gonna try a old axle that i think will work but they look like the same size

 

theres a clip on the end of the axle if that looks to be in good shape then it could be where it seats inside the tranny

 

you could be using the wrong axles, i had that problem before

 

I had the same problem with my GSR trans( EXACT SAME PROBLEM)

Its the Diff warn out and its doesnt hold the axle tight

pop your hood,
lean over the passenger side,
grab the CV thats in the tranny,
wiggle it, , Should be nice and tight

 

so its a 95 civic with a b16? what axle are you asking for at the parts counter

 

should be getting the axle for a del sol vtec if im not mistaken..

also, like said earlier, if the length is correct, it should have no where to slip out, i jsut changed my axle 2 months ago, after removing the lower ball joint, the axle fell right out, new one slipped right in, its the the hub holding it from falling out it seems.

 

When you say the axles are for an Si, do you mean a '92-'95 Si or a '99-'00 Si?

 

right i do have the del sol vtec on now and its popping out im thinkin it is the diff like lastgenek said...i have seriously tried every axle avalible in b series history i even tried switching mid shafts thinkin that would work and nothing so im thinkin about ripping it apart

 

fist i had ek si axles then i got ahold of some del sol vtec axles and same thing happens

 

I am running 95 integra LS axles and no problems.

 

are you sure you're putting it in all the way?

 

the axles should have no slack when its connected in the trans, make sure you have it in all the way

does the axle "pop" when you push it into the trans? if not, you have the wrong axle. im using axles for a 94 teg in my civic and have/had no issues.

 

i dunno, but if i get under my car and try pulling the axle out i cant. i think its the wrong length axle, but thats just my opinion

 

sorry, it should say "if not". the axle should "pop" into your tranny

 

This might be a long shot, but if your using the correct axles, with good clips, then maybe you have an internal issue with the diff.

 

sounds like wrong axle to me.. But maybe it is the diff

 

90-93 acura integra stock axels are a perfect fit for a b seiries in a 92-95 civic, given you dont have a half shaft
