Default Changing water pump/timing belt

Hey, I needed to change my water pump on my b16a so I ordered the timing belt and water pump together, and it also came with a tensioner, cam seals, and crank seal.

I called this garage to see how much they would charge for the job and they said I needed a oil pan O ring or something?

This doesn't sound like a big deal but I never heard of it before, do they mean the crank seal maybe?

I just need the water pump changed really, everything else seems fine. They also said it's like 5 hours. This sounds long for a garage.

they most likely are refering to the crank seal. its not required but smart to change while you are in there. also you may want to grab a valve cover gasket, gromets, and spark plug tube seals as well as a lower timing cover gasket.

5 hours seems pretty fair, its a long job. why not DIY and save $500 there are a ton of write-ups

Ok well I have the crank seal. I was going to get a valve cover gasket too but I was told I can reuse it, it's new anyways. I was just going to change it another time.

I Would like to do it myself but I'm not so sure I would be able to. I have done minor things on my car but nothing like this. Not to mention I can't spend a whole day or something fixing my car, I work 6 days a week and have to get alot of things done on my only day off =/. But there is a guy who is willing to do it for $150. He works at a performance shop but does jobs on his own to, I'm gonna give him a call.
