I am personally thinking about going tannabe orange grips with kyb adjustable struts, that rings in at around 600 and is like adjustable coils except you cant adjust drop.

400 will get you a decent set of shocks and lowering springs.save up to 600 and you can get a good set of coilovers

Really should save up. Unless you really cant take it anymore, like myself, and buy some monroes. They're alot better than my blown shocks, thats for sure.

how do you know your coil overs are bad?

you might just have to replace your struts.

for a cheap set up tokico blues or kyb's maybe skunk2 struts, and then for coils go with b&g, tein, skunk2, ebiak. Set up should run you around $350-400. Install them your self its not hard, just gotta be careful with the spring compression tool, not a job to do while drinkin the brewski.

Or you can save up to around 700 and get nice set up, koni's and ground controls, or a full skunk2 coilover set up list goes on and on.

well unless he has the original top hats, the new struts and springs won't do him any good if he can't MOUNT them...

my rex came with a mismatch set of rear springs/shocks from a EF sedan and fronts are blown no names with unknown stock springs..looks like a nhra drag car.

what I did is buy new OEM top hats and all the parts with it (bumpstops, nuts, spacers etc..) EXCEPT the springs and shocks and got a Tokico blues springs/shock combo from ebay. that way I know that my susp is all new and won't have ANY issues with it for awhile.

like the OP, just wanted a small drop for the occasional sprited runs.
