Buying an 01 GSR
is there anything I should look for when purchasing the vehicle? Im going to check the VINs to make sure the engine matches, and obviously body/interior characteristics. Is there anything underbody I should be looking for?
if you know anyone thats a mechanic ask them to go with you. for me when my friends ask me to go with them to check a car out i usually check the engine if it has any leaks. i just under the car if the oil pan looks damaged i check the cv. of course i check if the MIL is on. test drive the car is the most important. then i check the interior and how bad the body is. getting the vin and looking it up on car fax is a must.
check the oil for flakes from the bearings and the under the oil cap if its gunked up or milky oil, gunked means oil wasn't changed with it should of been, and milky means it has a blown head gasket.

^Thats kind of pushing it, cause that will scare many sellers because your pretty much taking apart there car. Compression test can tell you if there is something wrong, but my GSR has perfect compression across all four and it burns a quart a week lol... P.S. honda's are kind of known to burn oil, so get on it and look behind you
