Alright my dad's 97 accord will not go into 1st or 2nd gear when the car is on or off. I just replaced the clutch due to it starting to slip. After re-installing everything I cant get into first or 2nd. 3rd 4th 5th and reverse shift like butter. So my question is it because the shift cables are bent or is there something else that could be wrong. Everything was fine before taking the transmission off. THanks in advance for any input.

I didnt touch the pilot bearing.Only the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and the throw out bearing goes in one way only.

I took this off the transmission to see if something was stuck, even with this off im still not able to shift into first or second. But funny thing was I was messing around with it for a bit then put it back onto the tranny, tried to shift it but now i was able to get it into first gear only. Was not able to get into any other gears. After some more messing around I was able to go back to 3rd 4th 5th and reverse but again I couldnt go into first or second anymore. Im hoping its not the tranny itself which would be weird because it was fine before the clutch replacement.
This is how it looks like with the top off

The transmission was fine before clutch replacement. Even with bad syncros it should still be able to go into gear when the car is off.

If it was fine before you messed with it, the answer to your question should be obvious. I'm not sure why you took your shifter cable housing apart, but for future reference, I wouldn't touch that at all next time. You're going to have to pull the clutch to see what went wrong. If the pilot bearing is in wrong or the input shaft isn't aligned with the pilot bearing, it'll be difficult going into gear. Also, if the pressure plate is bad or the throwout bearing isn't on correctly, that could also pose a problem going into gear.

You prolly gonna think Imma retard for mentioning this but..... have you put the cables onto the correct sides of the selector
(I'm not entirely sure if this is possible as I only have experience with B Series)
