Whats up guys, I'm cross posting this in the this forum and the CRV forum, as I don't think the CRV forum gets the traffic that this one does. Also this is not necessarily vehicle-specific info I need.

My friend has a Honda CRV with power locks. The battery died, then he managed to lock his keys inside somehow. We can't manually unlock the doors using the coat hanger trick, I managed to snag his keys that were in the ignition with two coat hangers wired together and the key fob broke. Tried popping the hood with a coat hanger hook to get it power so I can unlock the doors, but I can't see the lever or get my fingers under the hood to get it that way.

The only thing I can think of to try is to somehow get power to the car, then reach in with the coat hanger and unlock it. But there it sits, impenetrable, mocking me. I've been trying to unlock this ****er for 4 hours now, and NOTHING I can think of is working.

Does anyone have any ideas?

 

ahh this is a ef/crx tech forum so try posting this in the GDD or in the appropriate forum...if that aint reasonable thinking then try AAA services

 

Yeah...I'm hoping to fix this myself instead of my friend having to pay money. Money's tight ATM for both of us. I guess I should post this somewhere else, this is the forum I'm always on though since I bought my ED.
