best mpgs in a crx?
i recently did research on the CRX and they get 40/city and 52/hwy brand new Im just curious what ppl get in them. I have gotten the most 47mpgs and the least ive gotten with cold air intake and bad plugs is 32mpgs. I recently put back on stock air intake to get my mpgs back up.
It helps a whole lot to lessen fuel consumption. it sucks on performance as get up and go wise. I drive mostly hwy mileage to see family and it saves me money for less fuel consumption.
well it does make a difference in gas mileage. I put a cold air intake on my CRX and my gas mileage went down after that but boy it could get up and go with the cold air intake. I finally just put stock back on for the gas mileage.

yeah i read that article and if you notice he did a whole engine swap for fuel mileage. that takes time , money and experience. I have time and automotive experience just not the money roflmao
I think bottom line is that, a stock intake inducts less air, then lowering the air:fuel.
Correct me if im wrong, but i believe that once you introduce more air into the engine, the fuel has to compensate for the air. so, your air:fuel is shot to **** once i induce more air.

I have an AEM short ram, **** i need to find a stock box/tube for my eg so i can cut down on going to the damn gas station!
The only "work around" to this is to have an adjustable FPR. But then you'll be running lean and end up with different problems all together. Honestly, i think that you only "need" a short ram or cold air if you plan on doing something which requires quick acceleration. Its a waste of gas on a normal daily driver.

i got 53mpg on the hwy with stock intake and exhaust manifold. that was the best ive ever had. i was driving at 70 most of the way. took me <1.5 gals to go 75 miles. i havent tried to see what i got after intake/header/exhaust yet
when my crx hf was stock i got 50 easy, 55 if i was gentle. When i put in the si transmission i could only get around 43mpg.
what kind of mileage should i expect with a sohc zc (non-vtec) + si transmission?
