Icon3 S-Car Optional Parts

Hey Folks

This weekend I had the chance to take a look at a few optional parts für our S-cars.

I will post some of the pics, starting with the optional cigarette-lighter.

Two of them (dark CL on silver ground) are original. The one with the white CL is a "Stanley" aftermarket product.

Have fun, Mark

This is a Honda front-grille cover.

The picture in the S800 Parts-Book still got the tiny wholes for the S600 grille.

Wow! I've been around S cars from the beginning and I've never seen any of those parts.

Very cool items. My s600 has the cigarette lighter, and I later obtained a NOS inspection light. I never seen a grill cover before, only the pictures in the parts books. Very cool that you found one.

Hi Mark, this is a very interesting thread you have started. I know this is not an optional part, but it is a fairly rare part.
Pictured is an S800 Chain Drive, LHD, Windscreen washer pump motor. I may be incorrect that it only was on LHD cars.
However, my research shows most LHD S8 Chain Drive S8's had this washer pump.

S6 & early S8 Racing brake drums and ventilation backing plates. Photos from my internet collection.

I still have a shop manual from when I bought my S-600 Coupe long ago in Okinawa.

Some of the things I found in Group V in that manual:

1-Transmission and clutch=5 speed and 30% stronger clutch
2-Propeller shaft= to fit the 5 speed transmission
3-Exhaust pipe= reduced back pressure; I modified my own on my car.
4-Gas tank=new 50 liter capacity
5-Safety belt= 4 point safety harness
6-Roll bar
7-Front cushion spring and radius rod= stiffer torsion bar
8-Stabilizer bar= 50% greater torsional strenght
9-Front damper an and rear cushion= 30% and 50% for front and rear dampening
10 Anchor plate= provides extra air to front and rear brakes
11-Wheels=1/2 inch wider wheels and looks like a Radial tire.
12-Fender Mirror= mounts on left fender

If I remember correctly these racing parts cost about $2000, or more than the cost of the car new!
