Default Swapping instrument cluster

Hey,
I wanted to install another cluster into my 2000 civic as I have no tach on my current cluster and would rather install a new cluster. Is this possible and are the clusters universal for all the civics? (so i can buy a 2005 civic cluster and install it on mine?) and i am guessing I will need to rewire some stuff in order for tach to work.
Thanks!
