Default CEL problems

My check engine light randomly comes on for a couple minutes so is there anyway to get a code for this or what? I believe its my TPS because my car is seeming to lack power big time lately..

Default Re: CEL problems

what year car is it? if its obd1, before '96 then you can jump the system with a paperclip or almost anything that will support a small electrical current and count the blinks on the dash. if the car is 96-current, then you will need a code reader, or go to autozone/advance/similar and ask them to read your check engine light and print out the code its throwing and it should also give possible fixes. it is free, dont let them try and charge you (seen it almost happen).
