Default 1987 crx fenders

I have to assume that this question has been asked many times, please forgive me... Need new plastic fenders, I see a bunch of internet vendors selling part number 1382-1 & 1382-2. Prices are all over the place. Description says they are steel. Are these civic fenders, or crx fenders? Plastic, steel, I don't care. But I'll care plenty if I end up with civic fenders! Please reply, thanks, Mike.

I'm not aware of any steel fenders for the 1G CRX. I would call up a few distributors prior to ordering to verify. You may find out that they all use the same manufacturer and then pocket the savings by going with the lowest price distributor.

There is one factory in Taiwan that still makes replacement plastic fenders for the 1st Gen CRX. Many retailers sell these plastic fenders, but list them as being steel. There are no steel fenders for these cars.

As the Taiwanese fenders are the only game in town, you have to take what they give you. I have a set on my car and they are "OK." On a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being best) they are about a "9."

Look on Ebay, you can get a good price there sometimes.

Before your mount these new fenders, slather the insides with fiberglass for extra strength.

I am aware that there are no steel fenders for this car. That's fine with me. I am putting together a fun summer daily driver for my wife. The description of "steel" worried me that I would end up with civic fenders, and not CRX fenders. if the seller carries that part number that I referenced above, then regardless whether they call them steel (which is a typo) or plastic, they are correct? THAT is my only concern. Thanks. Mike
