hi all im new to HT so let me introduce myself. im 20 yrs old, i stay in northern cali, and i have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. well the reason i decided to join this site is because my husband loves imports, mainly the eg hatchback and the 99-2000 em1, i dont know anything about cars so i was hoping that by joining this community i can learn more and hopefully help me to share the love my husband has for hondas. i am kind of lost since i dont know how to navigate so if anyone can please post a link to where i can learn the differences of each model and what all that d16 and b18 means because i dont understand it and frankly dont know anything about motors for that matter. so as you can see this is my first step into the world of imports and ive got a lot to learn so if anyone can help me out i would appreciate it. thanks in advance.

 

d16 is d series 1.6 liter
b18 is b series 1.8 liter

 

Oh okay, but what i'm trying get at is the break down of cars in general. what each part is and if there is a link to where i can know what is what. I just want to start with the basics, thanks for your help.

 

d-series are usually single over head cam motors(sohc)..except the d16a1 and dohc zc's.
and b-series are all dual over head cam motors(dohc)
then there are letter's after that like d16z6...this is a sohc vtec motor..

i would try to explain it but then my head will asplode.
