Anybody Can Repair Their Busted CRX Seats
This is my first DIY type thread so bare with me.
Ok so my wife is at work and both my kids are gone to their grandparents house for the weekend so I got to mess around with my CRX seats.
About two weeks ago I ordered a repair kit from dank714 got all his information and instructions from this thread: https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...1#post41788974
Well the UPS man brought my package wed. and now I finally got around to it.
(Note I am not going to show you how to disassemble your seats b/c dank714 has already showed everybody in his instructions)
Here is what all came with my kit not bad for $160.

Here is a up close of one of the covers

And a picture of the old turd seats before I started the repair

So I followed dank's instructions he provided and a little bit of cussing later this is one of the seats done compared to before.

If you guys are wondering I am not done b/c I am going to be putting these on Civic Pans and have not done it yet. (Lazy I know)
I am very pleased with the quality of Dank's repair kits and already have some people around me locally who are wanting a kit. It was very easy and Dank is a great guy he kept me informed about my package and told me to give him a call if I needed anything.
A random pic of my dogs wondering why the hell I have stuff torn apart all over the living
room.

If you guys have any questions hit dank or me up and I will try to answer them

i wanna fix the bolster on my itr seats.... is there something out there to fix that? the fabric/suede is still good... just unhappy with the bolster....
i dont know about these. looks really horrible. the skin looks a bit too large for the seats causing them to look loose =S

x2. The fabric needs to be tightened up. I don't know if it's just the quality of the covers or you don't have the dog-tags all hooked up...I'm not sure. But doesn't look good till they are all tought.
did u ever do this b4 cause i have to agree with everyone else they do look loose..... i dont want to say that the covers r made to big so did u use the foam sent with the kit on the bolsters???? no im thinkin i might have mine done by a professional if this is what i should expect mine to look like... i was just about to buy a kit from him but would like to hear from him on this topic.... where u at dank...
yeah he said he was doing different seat pans so I assume the bottom isn't clipped together which is why it has the "loose" look. it should tighten up once the new seat pan is on.
I am looking into the same kit but I have a DX. Can someone tell me what, if any, difference there is in the SI seat and the DX seat aside from the opening in the headrest?
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris
You can't tighten up the upper covers with them already completely ON the seats, so I don't know how they could be "not done" and/or look any better than they do. So they probably look the same.
In my experience with auto forums over the years, people who post pics of stuff that looks cruddy and add the preface that it's "not done" usually only do so because they realize it looks cruddy. And then they never produce better "finished" pictures either..

Has Dank 714 been around? I'd like to see about getting a set for my hatch, but I read that he's been MIA.
The car has been too modified to return back to stock. Not saying that it can't be done, it just wouldn't be worth it financially. I don't mind if the fit isn't perfect, it looks better than all the rips and missing foam. Plus I can get some experience playing with upholstery.

Was kinda hoping that this repair kit would be legit but it looks like i might have to take my busted seats to an upolestry shop sucks tho they are going to ask me for my first born
How is it going Jlefevers thanks for the compliments and for purchasing my kit. For all of you out there that think my kit looks loose, it looks like Jlefevers has not finished repairing or properly attaching the seat upholstery. My kit patterns are developed from mint condition seats and are just like oem but tucked in a bit to make them tighter. Please take into account that every seat has a different wear patterns and that 20 year old foam will compress. That is why in every one of my kits I include high density foam to fill in very deep gashes a layering foam to build up the worn down bolsters as well as foam repair sleeves that finish up the repair. If anyone has any questions or would like to make an order please call 714-495-8093. I am also working on taking care of some issues that I have had with orders.

Dank714 makes an awesome product I have seen "HIS" work in person. If you install his seat skins on your seat and they look like a wrinkled nuttsack that is the fault of the installer (by not building up seat foam) and if that installer posts pics of his wrinkled nuttsack loose seats he would recieve critics....
So... Haters will hate if the job done is shat.
