Lately Ive been hearing what I can only describe as a high-pitched whistle when I get on the throttle. It almost gives the illusion of a turbo spooling but I dont like it.

My guess is an exhaust leak or intake issue. I cant locate the sound precisely.

My cousin swears that its a hole in one of my hoses because "back in the day" ricers and such used to put a pinhole in a hose to make it sound turbo-ed. <--According to him.

Any help? I wanna get this fixed.

It's def the intake causing that.

 

Yeah...most likely just your intake. It's normal, and even more noticeable if you have an aftermarket one.

A hard to locate exhaust would sound more like a really really fast tapping, or like a cicada (insect), if you know what they sound like.

 

i had that "whistling noise" but it probably wasn't as loud as your describing it

took it to the dealer and they said i had a P/S fluid leak

 

Do u have a race header or any kind of aftermarket header?

 

My car makes like a whine whistle noise when I'm on the hwy giving it some throttle. It sounds like that and no its not my intake or my header or exhaust. Its something else.

P/S leak you say? Do you kno where the leak was at.

 

mine does this as well until it's warm.... and it seems to only happen at night for some odd reason.

windows up/down don't matter i can still hear it. hmmmmmmmmmmm

 

my intake whistles at light throttle. your noise might be coming from a bad gasket on you tb thats letting air leak in. i had to replace mine was once.

 

@ RICO_ : Nope. Car is stock performance wise besides K&N Drop-In and Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil.

When I buy my AEM/Injen Intake Im planning on TBS and new gaskets. Also planning on aftermarket header/exhaust soon.

 

To me it almost sounded like a gear whine but max i think your right. Ill have a buddy hit the gas and ill feel around the TB today.
