My new hood scoop
My AEM CAI is always getting clogged from being a couple of inches off the road so I made an intake setup that I can just throw on for the track. Hood is a pos so I didnt feel too bad hacking into it. Still have to sand around the cuts

from going to clogged k&n on cai to open tb yea it doesn't bog as much.
from open tb to open tb with NACA duct the only difference is it seems to accelerate a bit quicker at highway speeds. Tried to make it as functional as possible but I guess its more of a cosmetic kinda thing :/

i mean if it gets better throttle response and it doesnt seem to bog then its functional. cosmetic sure because you see it...but its form and function. i like it...first time ive seen this on a lude.
and another purely cosmetic, non-functional post by the king of the parking lot himself. jiffy lube called, your oil change is done.
2 things.
1. that inlet is not going to supply the air that velocity stack is going to suck up. so what will happen is heatsoak. right there in that location, the top rear of the engine bay is the hottest spot, where all the engines heat congregates. there is a reason why the air inlet is always low, in the front of the bay, even on stock cars.
2. by having you intake tube length you are robbing air velocity to the TB. i would be willing to bet any amount of money your clogged AEM CAI makes more power than that, even with no filter at normal operating temps.
so, good initiative, but poor execution. try getting some longer tubing and mounting that thing up toward the front of the bay, and get some metal sheeting and build a heatsheild for it and line that in DEI tape. thats one saturday afternoons work and probably 60 bucks in hardware store stuff.
edit: i just noticed you are using a PVC elbow. when PVC is heated it lets off fumes into your intake manifold that are not combustible. chokes your motor out. the fumess are toxic, and being so close to your rain cowl, they will vent those fumes right into the cabin of your car, especially at a red light. headaches lately?
its probably not what you wanted to hear, but it is what it is. let me know if you want me to take this down and replace it with 'shitz hella tight dawg".
hope that helps.

LMAO, x2

I think it looks good, but for a daily driver that is a toilet bowl setup for water to flush the motor. I am sure you already thought about that though since you said this is your track only setup
myem2-that has already been adressed
What.-Nope no need to change your post. I understand what you're saying about velocity and didn't really think about it before doing this...guess thats why I dont see more setups like this on track cars. You're not bs'ing me about the pvc emitting fumes at non burning temps?
