Default What D series head gaskets are interchangeable?

as the title says what d series head gaskets are interchangeable?

I recently swapped out mine in my 91 lx sedan but its the paper type gasket on my crx old Z6 it had a metal/steel? gasket. which got me thinking are they interchangeable, because i would prefer a steel one than the paper one any day.

thanx for the input!

they will work and im pretty sure i read somewhere that they may alter the compression ratio by using one of those options...!!!

like if you use a y8 your comp ratio will be raised.

88-00 SOHC all share the same bolt pattern. If you do go with the metal headgasket you should consider having the mating surfaces of the head and block inspected by a machine shop to ensure proper straightness. Unlike the normal [composite] head gasket, the metal one doesn't "crush" the same way as the composite gasket when the head is torqued down so it's very important that the mating surface is within spec.

Compression alters from the different thickness of the gasket. Check the FAQ for the link to the compression calculator if you want to see what the difference will be.

They are all the same. But there is a factory updated head gasket for the 88-91 D series that is a four layer metal gasket. There is a bulletin about the updated part. It replaces the composite one since it is known for deteriorating over time. 92-95 Gask is three layer. 96-00 gask is two layer. Just pick which one you would like to use.
