Default Gsr Build Questions

Hey,

Im about to start building my Gsr and I was wondering if any one has a review on Blox B Cams and their valve train. Also, I plan on revving this motor to around 9k. From some research I've done, using GSR rods and shot peening them and having arp rob bolts and hardware ect will let me do that safely. Along with balancing the rotating assembly and all that. I was wondering if I could potentially be able to hit the 200whp with a itr IM and a nice set of headers, along with a 2.5 exhaust all the way.

Thanks

The blox B cams are copies of the Skunk 2 stage 2 tuner cams. You do not need to shot peen GSR rods as they are plenty strong as they are. Upgrading the rod bolts is a good idea. With an optimized intake, header, exhaust and a good tune, it may be possible to reach those numbers on some dyno.

On my GSR motor with Blox Cs I put down around 205. GSR rods with ARP rod bolts, 4-2-1 header and 2.5" exhaust and ported blox IM. I've seen similar numbers on some builds with Bs.

most built gsr's may see excesses of 215 on a dynapack with proper fuel, air, and tuning

What would be the best tranny for circuit use? Would Gsr crank work fine? How about blox or supertech valves? Are any of these necessary? Would you recommend bigger injectors and fuel pump?

So many questions.
#1 Have you thought about a custom tranny that matches your power output? I would start with a ITR and get a shorter final gear ratio.
#2 GSR cranks are very good from the factory. No need to change unless you want more stroke.
#3 Supertech is a very good brand many people on HT use Supertech.
#4 Stock fuel pump will handle your needs, larger injectors will be needed once you get over about 190whp.
