Sacremento Raceway
Me and a few of my friends went to the Sac. Raceway drags today. The turn out was small but only because drags were also being held at Sears Point Raceway. This was my first time going to a track period so it was a good experience eventhough I didn't run my car. The highlights of the day were seeing a pro drag Mustang 5.0 getting completely sideways while doing his burnout, then running a 10.5 and seeing a truly beautiful '69 Camaro- green with white stripes, chrome rims and nice sounding exhaust run.
Why is it that almost everyone's 60ft. seemed horrible. Yes there were a few in the 1.5 - 2.1 range but those were the more heavily modified cars. All the regular street cars ran like 2.4-3.5. My friend in his '97 GSR with CAI ran a best of 15.001, my other friend in his '00 ITR also with CAI only ran a 14.8 but had a 2.4 60ft. and my friend in his '97 Eclipse GS-T with FMIC and boosting 18psi ran a 14.6.
All in all, eventhough I sat out in the sun for a few hours taping races and wishing I was running my car as well, I had a good time. Next month we're planning to go again and hopefully I'll run my car as well.

I was at Sears point over the weekend and all my buddies and myself who usually go to Sac where all in agreement the Sacramento Raceway doesn't even compare to Sears Point. Sac is OK but not nearly as organized, clean or prepared as Sears Point was. Oh yeah and the grand stands where like 6 or 8 stories tall with shade. Wtf... I felt like I was at a stadium waching football or something, but instead I was watching 200+ MPH passes and records breaking left and right.

I was running in Sac. I had a silver crx on gabs. Sacramento CMI, dude was the weakest I had ever seen it in the last 7 years. Like 50 cars Sat, but you could have gotten over 30 runs, just run after run. Best weather inawhile! Sears is totally remodeled under new ownership. Go figure, if I had the money, I would buy out Sacramento raceway, remodel it, and call it something new, hehe.
...yeah they need to plant some tree's and a little bit of that money that they are making back into the raceway. Sac raceway has been this way for years, since I was a kid, never really looked good. They are building a new raceway park in yuba city, which will host NHRA.
yea i was at CMI. I dont think it is the tracks fault for those horrible 60-ft times. If u listened to those peoples car you could tell they were launchin at 4k+ rpms. For some reason they thought they had slicks or something
. I still ran my normal low 2.3's. Some people just can't drive

The Sac Raceway is fine. I cut a 2.316 on a stock 3000lb Accord. Most people just don't know how to drive. BTW, I was launching at over 4k RPM, I have tried everything from idle to 5k, and I get the best results around 4.3-5k RPM. I also rarely race, if I practice launching a bit more I know I can cut a 2.2 and get into the high 15's.
For those that did run their cars, what were you driving? make, model, year, color, anything specific... i got just about every race of the first two time trial runs on tape so. i was impressed by the 13 second g2 integ and the mid 90's white accord.
My car is auto right now but i'm getting the auto to manuak swap done by the end of this month(i've been waiting patiently for about a year now for it to get done, i'm tired of waiting) and hopefully i'll have enough to to break in the clutch so that i can run my car next month.

sheit i went there this weekend, and was so pissed about the gay small *** turnout that i went to sears point, which was still a small turnout, but at least there were full drag cars there.
