Default Exceeding load capacity on Accord

We had some visitors over the weekend and I ended up driving everyone around (total 6 people) in my 2000 Accord. I think we drove a total of about 200 miles. I checked the load capacity on the side of the car door today and it says 850 pounds. I'm guessing, with 6 people we were around 950 pounds. Should I be concerned?

Did she seem like she was struggling real bad while you where driving over capacity? If not I wouldn't worry about it. They are built tough enough to take 100lbs over there rated capacity. Unless you are starting to hear strange sounds from the transmission or engine. Or if you are seeing smoke coming from the exhaust.

Thanks for the reply. No unusual sounds yet from the transmission or engine. I was also worried about the tires-- if the overload could have somehow weakened them.

I'm pretty sure your tires should be fine. If it was enough to weaken them, you probably would have known right then and there.

The only thing with your tires would have been increased camber due to the weight (where they're sunken inwards at the top) the distance you drove however was minimal and would have have caused any lasting effects. You could if you were **** about it look over your joints to see if you broke any old rubber bushings from the increased stress but I doubt anything is actually wrong or damaged.
