Im looking for a new look for the spring and Id like to paint either my 2007 Si Rims or My 2010 Si Rims.

Most Likely a dark color (gunmetal, bronze, satin black) Opinions Welcome!!

Id like to save for aftermarket ones but Im planning on moving soon so I gotta save some money up lol.

I would paint the 07 wheels if you really want to. I personally love the 2010 wheels as they are. What color is your car? picks may help people help you.

Paint the '10s...they are uglier in stock form.

 

my thoughts exactly lately...except the OEM finish on the '10s are nicer than the finish on the '07s.

right now im leaning towards the '07s.

VOTE! List your reasons/color choices.

 

Also, I don't really care for painted '07 style rims, unless they are white, then they look pretty decent. The '09+ ones looks pretty damn good in bronze or gold, better than they do in their oem finish...imo.

 

Coming from an OEM *****, I'm not big on painted OEM wheels. Most stock wheels already come in a decent color.

You want a different look, get different wheels.

 

Trade one set for a clean set of RSX Type S wheels. The S wheels made me fall in love with the look of my car all over again.

 

to be honest, i like the 06-08 wheels painted better than the 09-10 ones do.

I painted my 07s satin gunmetal. I think they came out really good. Also just installed some shocks/struts and ct springs I got from a member here "Nerdrum".

Looks so official now. But definitely not low enough. Ill get pics up soon.

 

Paint neither! keep them stock color and just save up or trade them for something decent.

 

Some guy on 8th had a black car with RED 07 wheels...looked horrendous.

That's why I don't even have a username there.

i think powder coating (or professionally painting) OE wheels is smart for many people and applications.

i can't tell you what to do with yours, because i don't do what trends say, but what i really like, however -

if it were me i'd do some sort of VERY bright silver with a heavy metallic flake, so it's not that much different from stock but when people look at it they know something is going on. they don't know what it is, but they like it...ALOT. also, possibly a black chrome type of powder coat with the so-called "super gloss" top coat.

i had black wheels with red lip in 1998 and the last set of non-oe colored wheels i had were gun metal axis maglites when i sold my old car in 07, so dark wheels, to me....are played.

 

paint the ones that need painting!

 

I think the 09-10 wheels in white or bronze would look good

 

I have an 07 fiji si coupe and id go with bronze or gunmetal on mine, which I'm thinking of doing. With black though, I wouldn't go gunmetal unless you're going for all black everywhere. repaint them a silver that's a little nicer perhaps.
Side note: has anyone had their stock 07 rims repainted or powder coated? How much was it, and how long did it take? How did the center caps come out?
