sohc clutch's all the same?
any d16 clutch kit will work as long as you have a matching flywheel. 92-95 wont work with a 88-91 flywheel. 88's clutch's are different from 89-91 as well, on account of the spline difference, but i dont know about the flywheel.
a year ago i change the clutch out on my d16y7 and i used my 89+ clutch kit from the zc i had set up and i found out the hard way that i had to swap the flywheels as well.

it actually makes it a little easier cause then you could use which ever clutch you desire. the flywheel only consists of 6 bolts. and im sure they are way more common than a 88-91 flywheel.
Its in the FAQ.....

as long as ur tranny is not a bastard 88 with the 21 splines then ur fine. 89 and up trannies all have 20 spline shafts. my y7 clutch has 20 splines and worked fine with the si tranny in my 91. the z6 will too.
if you are trying to get a complete clutch kit for it, the 92 and up clutch kit will not work with the 88-91 transmission - the clutch disc and pressure plate will work (as long as you have 90 and up flywheel, but the 92 and up clutch release (throwout) bearing will not work
I was under the impression that 89-91 flywheels work with 89-91 clutches and 92 and up clutches work with 92 and up flywheels....and the throwout from an 88 or maybe just 89-91; but from what jilicrx is saying...it sounds like there is difference between the 89 and 90 flywheel and that the 90 flywheel works with 92 and up clutches...
but me personally...i would use 92 flywheel with 92 clutch and 90 flywheel with 90 clutch. 89-91 throwout in anycase....and if nothing else, you should be able to find a 90 oem style exedy clutch kit or better on ebay or some performance parts website....if you cant muster up enough for a 92+ flywheel clutch combo...but then u still need the throwout....

heres a link for 90-91 crx exedy clutches....or you can go to ebay and search 90-91 exedy clutch.

i think you have to have the si clutch to match. i just tried to put an si tranny in my 90 civic and it bolted up but presses up against something. i couldnt even get my car to turn over cause of some weird friction. it wouldnt push start either it would just lock up. everyone told me to get the si clutch cause its different
idk if I'm gonna like the answer BUT
i have a tranny off of my d15b2 (88 crx dx) I have the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate off of that engine. I'm building a mini me with b7 block that came with clutch flywheel and pressure plate. Do i put on the b2 stuff or b7 stuff?

this is a chart that i made several years ago for determining what clutch you need: (note: some 88 and 89 oem clutches were 190mm diameter, but they used the same flywheel as the 200mm diameter)

this is the differences between the 88-89 and 90-91 flywheels (92 and up are similar to 90-91):

Well of course...you always need the 1.6l clutch since we're playing with d16s....if you messing with a d15 then you need the matching clutch.....make any sense?
since all the 92 and up are all d16s then those are mostly similar.
when i first got my 88 hf w/ the DOHC ZC that im working on now...i dont know about the clutch it had but i know that the clutch i got to replace it was the 1.6l or Si and everything else is Si...the hubs etc but for some reason, even though it wasnt the matching 88 trans but it was still an HF trans 89. much longer 1st and 2nd gears...
89 hf trans, 89 Si clutch, 2nd gen 1.6l DOHC ZC and all that worked together.
